About Chang

Chang Liu earned his J.D. from Ohio State University in Columbus in 2009. He completed his legal education at a time when courts and regulatory landscapes in the Northeast were adapting to post-recession pressures. That period shaped many young lawyers entering practice and informed how he approached casework early in his career.

After law school, Liu secured admission to the bars of both New York and New Jersey. He has maintained those licenses throughout his career and has handled matters that span both states. Working in two adjoining jurisdictions has required attention to differences in procedure and local practice. He has navigated those differences while representing clients in a range of settings.

Over the years Liu’s work has involved litigation and counseling. He has prepared pleadings and motions, negotiated settlements, and advised clients on transactional issues. The record-keeping, drafting, and oral advocacy that legal work demands are parts of his routine. He has appeared before state trial courts and administrative bodies and has handled pretrial preparation and discovery across matters.

Clients he has served include individuals and small to mid-size businesses. He has worked on disputes that require managing deadlines, marshaling documentary evidence, and coordinating with experts when needed. On transactional matters he has drafted and reviewed contracts, assisted in corporate governance questions, and supported clients through closings. His approach emphasizes clear analysis and practical steps to resolve disputes or move transactions forward.

In the office and at hearings, Liu favors direct communication. He explains options plainly. He sets priorities and communicates likely outcomes based on the facts at hand. Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation settings and methodical in transactional work. He has continued to adjust his practice as courtroom procedures and regulatory frameworks have evolved.

Outside litigation and deal work, Liu has kept pace with continuing legal education and local rules in both states. Remaining current on statutory and procedural changes is a routine part of his practice. He applies that knowledge to advise clients on compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution.

He practices law in New York and New Jersey and focuses his practice on advising and representing clients on legal matters arising in those jurisdictions.
