About Adam M.

Adam M. Nicoll built his legal foundation at the University of Florida. He earned a B.S.B.A. in 2011 and stayed on to complete a J.D. at the Levin College of Law in 2014. While in law school he completed a Certificate in Intellectual Property, a credential that shaped his early practice choices and remains a steady reference point in his work.

After law school Nicoll began practicing in Florida. Over the years he moved into roles that combined transactional work and litigation. He now serves as a partner at Chepenik Trushin LLP. In that position he splits time between counseling clients on intellectual property matters and handling disputes that touch on commercial and technology-related issues. His business undergraduate degree and IP training often intersect in the matters he accepts.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He breaks complex problems into discrete issues. He writes clearly and asks practical questions. That style shows up whether he is drafting license agreements, advising on trademark strategy, or preparing pleadings for state court contests. He handles prosecution and portfolio management as well as negotiation and enforcement, depending on what a client needs.

Nicoll is licensed to practice in Florida and holds current memberships in The Florida Bar and the Dade County Bar Association. Those memberships keep him engaged with local rules and developments. He participates in continuing education programs and regularly follows updates in both the IP and commercial law spaces to stay current on evolving statutory and case law.

Outside of case files and contract decks, Nicoll’s work is informed by a practical interest in how businesses use intellectual property as an asset. He advises entrepreneurs, technology companies and other organizations on registration strategy, contract terms and dispute avoidance measures. He has developed a practice that blends counseling and advocacy, often moving from preventive work into dispute resolution when matters escalate.

In practice he applies legal training from the University of Florida to matters filed and defended in Florida courts and before administrative bodies. He is a partner at Chepenik Trushin LLP and currently concentrates his practice on intellectual property counseling, transactional work and related commercial disputes.
