About Wes

Wes Coulson serves as a managing lawyer. He oversees legal operations and daily practice matters, guiding teams and shaping how work gets done. Those duties place him at the intersection of law and firm management. He balances administrative responsibility with case-level decision making.

His legal training provided the foundation for that balance. Over the course of his career he pursued the customary milestones that lead to practice and leadership. He developed the procedural knowledge and courtroom familiarity that support a manager’s judgment. That background informs how he evaluates risk, assigns work, and advises clients.

Coulson’s early years in practice focused on hands-on representation and learning how firms run. He handled individual client matters and took part in collaborative projects inside the office. That period tested his practical skills and offered insight into staffing, budgeting and client intake—areas central to a managing lawyer’s workload.

In his role as a manager he has responsibility for mentoring associates and coordinating among practice groups. He organizes workflows, monitors deadlines and aims to keep files moving. He also takes part in staffing decisions and helps set internal procedures for quality control and conflict management. Those tasks require a mix of legal judgment and organizational thinking.

Clients and colleagues see him as someone who attends to both substantive issues and the mechanics of practice. He is accustomed to reviewing pleadings, advising on case strategy and stepping in when complex or time-sensitive matters arise. At the same time he is engaged in the nonlitigation side of running a practice: budgeting, client communications and professional development for junior lawyers.

Outside the office he has contributed to routine professional obligations and the ongoing work of maintaining a practice. He keeps up with changes in procedural rules and ethical guidance that affect day-to-day operations. That attention to detail helps the firm meet deadlines and manage risk.

In 2026 he remains the managing lawyer, overseeing the firm’s legal work and firm administration. His current practice concentrates on supervising legal services and managing client relationships.
