About Stephen

Stephen Crandall earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1994. He came out of law school at a time when legal practice was changing, and he spent the early years of his career building a steady practice across state lines. The Dayton degree has been the starting point for a legal career that now spans more than three decades.

After graduation he established himself in the region and became licensed to practice in both Ohio and Kentucky. Over the years he handled matters that required familiarity with two separate state systems. In 2010 he joined Crandall & Pera Law as a partner. That move formalized a long-running association with the firm and placed him in a leadership role where he has worked on firm strategy and client representation since then.

Crandall divides his work among a network of offices that serve a wide geographic area. He works from locations in Lexington, Chesterland, downtown Cincinnati, Cincinnati’s east side, Columbus, Chagrin Falls and Cleveland. Those offices serve different client populations and legal needs, and he has maintained a presence in several of them to respond to those variations in demand. Regular travel between offices is part of how he manages caseloads and meets with clients.

Over more than 30 years of practice he has navigated state court procedures and client matters in both Ohio and Kentucky. That experience means he is familiar with the practical mechanics of litigation and transactional matters that arise at the state level. Colleagues describe him as someone who steadies cases and keeps attention on procedural detail. He has also taken on administrative responsibilities at the firm as part of his partner role.

Outside of the office he holds memberships in professional organizations that connect lawyers across the region. He keeps current on changes to state rules and local practice through those affiliations and ongoing legal education. As of 2026 he continues to practice law as a partner at Crandall & Pera Law, working from the firm’s offices in Lexington, Chesterland, Cincinnati (downtown and east side), Columbus, Chagrin Falls and Cleveland and serving clients across Ohio and Kentucky.
