About J. Conner

J. Conner Niceley earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2021 after completing his undergraduate studies at Eastern Kentucky University in 2017. He moved relatively quickly from the classroom into practice. The timeline suggests he transitioned into the Kentucky legal community at a time when new attorneys were adapting to changes in court procedures and client expectations.

Niceley began building his practice as an associate at Garmer & Prather, PLLC. In that role he performs a range of tasks typical for early-career attorneys: legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing discovery, and supporting trial preparation. He also meets with clients, helps develop case strategies under partner supervision, and appears in court when appropriate. These duties have given him steady exposure to the day-to-day work of litigation and client counsel.

His memberships underline an orientation toward professional engagement within Kentucky and beyond. He is a current member of the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Justice Association, and the Fayette County Bar Association. Those memberships provide access to continuing legal education, practice resources, and local networking. They also offer avenues to stay current on shifts in state law and procedural rules.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and responsive in managing case tasks. He tends to handle detailed legal research and document preparation that support broader litigation efforts. Niceley’s time in practice since graduating has been marked by gaining practical courtroom experience and an increasing role in client-facing work. He has settled into the routines of case management and courtroom procedure that define much of an associate attorney’s early career.

Outside of court filings and client meetings, Niceley’s background draws on two regional institutions. His undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his law degree from the University of Kentucky root him in the state’s educational landscape. That background has informed his professional network and offers a local perspective on issues brought by clients across Fayette County and the Commonwealth.

He continues his work at Garmer & Prather, PLLC as an associate lawyer. He focuses his current practice on representing clients in matters arising in Kentucky.
