About Ronald L.
Ronald L. Abramson earned his law degree from The George Washington University Law School in 1993 after completing a B.A. at Emory University in 1990. He built his early career between public service and private practice, taking roles that bridged law, commerce and international relations.
In 2005 Abramson served as Commercial Consul to Chile for the State of New Hampshire, a post that placed him at the intersection of trade policy and consular engagement. The year after he joined McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton as of counsel. He founded abramson IMMIGRATION+ SOLUTIONS in 2009, establishing a practice that handled client work in immigration and related areas. In 2019 he joined Shaheen & Gordon as counsel and became a partner there in 2022.
He is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and before federal courts that include the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. Abramson is also admitted to the 1st and 11th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. That mix of state and federal admissions shapes a practice that routinely touches appellate procedure and federal litigation.
Much of Abramson’s work concerns immigration law. He has handled appeals and trial-level matters that arise under federal immigration statutes and regulations. His memberships in the First Circuit Immigration Appellate working group and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild reflect ongoing involvement in appellate immigration practice and in policy-oriented professional networks. He also belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers Association and maintains membership in the New Hampshire Bar Association and the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, indicating regular engagement with criminal-defense practitioners on cases where immigration consequences are at stake.
Colleagues describe his path as a blend of private practice and public roles. The commercial-consul position and later firm work provided different perspectives on how immigration, business interests and criminal law can intersect. At abramson IMMIGRATION+ SOLUTIONS he concentrated on client-facing immigration representation. At Shaheen & Gordon his role expanded to include collaborative work on litigation and appellate matters within a larger firm structure.
He writes and speaks on immigration topics on occasion and participates in local and circuit-level practitioner groups. He is active in forums that address appellate strategies and the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. He currently focuses his practice on immigration law, appellate work and federal litigation.
