About George T. Campbell
George T. Campbell III has built a steady legal career that moves from courtroom work to solo practice. He reads cases closely and prefers to let results speak for themselves. Colleagues describe him as methodical; he learned the craft in classrooms and courtrooms over decades.
Campbell completed his undergraduate studies at the College of the Holy Cross, earning a B.A. in political science in 1987. He later attended the University of New Hampshire School of Law and received his J.D. in 1994. Earlier schooling included time at St. Paul’s School. Those years provided the academic foundation he relied on as he entered practice.
He began his legal career at Cloutier, Beliveau & Fradette after law school. Within a few years he moved to McLane Middleton, P.A., where he served as a senior associate beginning in 1997. That period deepened his litigation experience and exposed him to a mix of civil and criminal matters handled in state and federal courts.
In 2004 Campbell joined The Stein Law Office as senior counsel. He later became a partner at Backus, Meyer & Branch, PLLC in 2014. Those roles expanded his trial and appellate work and included courtroom strategy, client counseling and managing litigation teams. In 2017 he shifted to a solo practice under the name George T. Campbell, Lawyer at Law.
Campbell is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is a NITA Certified Teacher of Advocacy Skills, a credential that signals regular involvement in trial skills training and courtroom instruction. He holds memberships in the Massachusetts Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the New Hampshire Association for Justice.
Those memberships reflect the mix of work he has pursued: courtroom litigation, criminal defense, and trial advocacy training. In private practice he handles matters that require courtroom presence and the preparation those cases demand. He now maintains a solo practice as George T. Campbell, Lawyer at Law, focusing on criminal defense and trial advocacy.
