About Robert
Robert Friedman has practiced law in Western New York for decades. He built a practice rooted in courtroom work and municipal service. Colleagues and clients know him for steady representation and a long local presence.
He earned his J.D. from Hamline University in 1975 after completing a B.A. at State University of New York, College at Buffalo in 1972. Those academic years set a clear path toward litigation and public service. He entered practice at a time when courtroom experience shaped many careers.
Early in his career he joined the firm that became Friedman & Ranzenhofer. He became a partner in 1977 and has remained tied to that firm name since. The partnership established his role as a local practitioner with reach across multiple communities in the region.
Friedman is admitted to practice in New York and in the Federal Circuit. His memberships include the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and several county bar associations including Erie and Genesee. He also maintains ties to local civic groups; he belongs to the Akron Chamber of Commerce and holds prosecutor roles for municipal governments.
He serves as prosecutor for the Village of Akron and as Town Prosecutor for Clarence. Those municipal duties involve courtroom appearances at the local level and regular interaction with elected officials and municipal staff. The combination of private practice and public prosecutorial work has kept him engaged in both civil and criminal calendars in the area.
Friedman maintains offices that serve a broad swath of Western New York. His practice locations include Buffalo, Rochester, Niagara Falls, Williamsville/Clarence, West Seneca, Batavia and Akron. He continues to handle matters in state and federal courts while carrying out his municipal prosecutor responsibilities.
He remains active in the local legal community through bar association participation and civic membership. Today he practices at Friedman & Ranzenhofer and continues to represent clients and act as a municipal prosecutor in Western New York, handling matters in both state and federal courts.
