About Mr. Alan
Mr. Alan Peyrouton trained across two fields that often intersect in practice: immigration and criminal defense. He earned his J.D. from Michigan State University in 2000, where his studies emphasized both areas. Before law school he completed a B.S. in International Business at Saint Peter's University in 1994 and attended Ridgewood High School earlier in his academic life.
Peyrouton's path to private practice followed the classroom. After finishing law school in 2000 he entered work that combined courtroom experience and casework involving noncitizen clients. Over time he moved into roles that required both criminal litigation and immigration strategy. His resume has threads of courtroom advocacy, client counseling, and case preparation running through it.
He maintains memberships in several professional groups that reflect his practice interests. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Institute Of Criminal Lawyers. He has belonged to the New Jersey Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2009. Those affiliations keep him connected to peers and to developments in criminal law and procedure.
Peyrouton established Peyrouton Law to handle the matters he has spent years addressing. The firm's work includes criminal defense cases at various stages — from arraignment through trial — as well as immigration matters that often arise out of criminal charges. He has managed both individual defense strategies and client communication during high-stress periods, navigating the overlap between state criminal systems and federal immigration consequences.
Colleagues and clients describe his approach as straightforward. He focuses on facts, evidence and the practical options available to each client. That means running down records, developing defenses, and explaining likely outcomes in plain language. He prepares cases for trial when needed and also evaluates whether negotiated resolutions make sense for a client's long-term interests.
Outside courtroom filings and client meetings, Peyrouton keeps current on statutory changes and appellate decisions that affect criminal and immigration practice. He participates in continuing legal education through his bar associations and professional groups. He runs Peyrouton Law and continues to take cases that combine criminal defense and immigration issues, handling both contested hearings and negotiated resolutions.
