About Michael Duane

Michael Duane Kennedy took a direct path into the law after completing undergraduate studies. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of South Carolina–Columbia in 2001. He later studied at DePaul College of Law and received his J.D. in 2011, where he concentrated on business law.

Early in his legal career Kennedy worked as a law clerk at Goldstein, Bender & Romanoff in 2010. That experience gave him front-line exposure to litigation practice and courtroom procedure. He joined The White Law Group, LLC as an associate in 2012 and rose to partner in 2019. The progression from clerk to partner unfolded over a decade of casework and firm responsibilities.

Kennedy is licensed to practice in Illinois. He has been active in professional circles that relate to investor representation and dispute resolution. Since 2013 he has held membership in the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association and taken part in the organization’s Membership Committee and Webinar Committee. Those roles have involved planning educational programming and supporting peer engagement across arbitration practice.

Colleagues describe Kennedy as steady and methodical. He has handled matters that require attention to regulatory detail and procedural timing. His courtroom and arbitration work involves preparation for hearings, witness examination, and complex document review. He balances case strategy with the practical demands of advancing client interests through negotiated settlements when appropriate.

The White Law Group has been the center of Kennedy’s private practice for more than a decade. As associate and later partner, he has shared responsibility for case management and client communication. The firm’s environment has given him opportunities to mentor junior attorneys and to coordinate with experts where technical financial issues arise.

Outside of casework, Kennedy’s committee work with the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association has kept him engaged with continuing legal education. He has participated in webinars and helped shape member outreach. That engagement reflects a sustained interest in the procedural and educational aspects of investor arbitration practice.

Kennedy currently practices at The White Law Group, LLC, where his work centers on representing investors in arbitration and related disputes.
