About Melaney

Melaney Hodge began her academic path at High Point University, where she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She went on to earn her law degree from New England Law | Boston in 2012. That combination of liberal arts and legal training shaped an early interest in how law interacts with community institutions and public policy.

She entered practice immediately after law school, joining the Law Office of Susan Castleton Ryan, P.C. in 2012. That role provided hands-on experience in day-to-day client work and courtroom procedures. In 2020 she moved to Sekella Law, PLLC, broadening her exposure to matters that span civil practice in New England. In 2022 she joined Cohen & Winters, PLLC, where she continues her legal work.

Hodge is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She also holds admission to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow her to represent clients in state courts across two jurisdictions and, where appropriate, to participate in matters that reach the nation’s highest court.

Her professional memberships include the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Plymouth County Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Association. She maintains active memberships in those organizations and participates in local bar-related activities. Her involvement reflects ongoing ties to both the Massachusetts and New Hampshire legal communities.

Colleagues describe Hodge as methodical in her approach to casework. She draws on experience gained over multiple positions to manage client files and court deadlines. She has handled matters that require coordination across state lines and has experience preparing filings for different levels of court. She also brings courtroom familiarity from her early years in private practice.

Outside of litigation and filings, Hodge’s background in history informs how she researches precedents and compiles records. She applies that perspective when preparing briefs and when advising clients on procedural questions. Her work emphasizes clear communication with clients and careful attention to procedural detail.

Today Hodge is based at Cohen & Winters, PLLC. She represents clients in matters arising in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and accepts matters that may require federal-level advocacy, including cases that involve appellate work before higher courts.
