About Tom

Tom Reid took an unconventional path into the law. He began his academic life studying engineering at Johns Hopkins University, completing his undergraduate degree in 1987. Nearly a decade later he earned a J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1996. That combination of technical training and legal education has shaped the way he approaches problems: methodical, exacting and attentive to detail.

After law school he entered practice in New Hampshire and built a career rooted in the state’s courts and communities. Over the years he has maintained an active professional presence in the region. He is licensed to practice in New Hampshire and has been involved in local legal and civic circles since the mid-1990s. His professional resume includes a long-running membership that dates back to 1996 and a steady investment in local institutions.

Reid has taken on roles outside the courtroom as well. Since 2014 he has served as Vice Chair of the Board at the Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire. In that capacity he has participated in governance and oversight at a nonprofit that provides crisis intervention services. The board position reflects an interest in community institutions and in shaping policies for nonprofit operations.

He practices law through Reid Law, PLLC. Running a small firm has required him to blend hands-on legal work with the administrative tasks of managing a practice. He has handled client matters in a variety of settings, often addressing problems that arise in a state-centered practice. Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in meetings and court appearances.

Clients and peers encounter an attorney who prefers clear analysis to flourish of rhetoric. His engineering background shows in an emphasis on structure and logical presentation. He tends to break complex issues into component parts and to build a case step by step. In hearings and filings he aims for precision in both fact and legal citation.

Outside the office he remains connected to local civic networks through board service and longstanding memberships. That engagement keeps him attuned to community needs and the institutional landscape of central New Hampshire. He currently concentrates his practice on legal matters arising in New Hampshire through Reid Law, PLLC.
