About Matthew
Matthew Trollinger built his legal foundation at Grove City College, where he earned a B.A. in 2005, and later at Regent University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2009. Those years shaped his approach to litigation and the practical side of client advocacy. Early on he combined classroom work with hands-on experience that steered him toward civil litigation.
He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. After several years practicing in the region, Trollinger started his own firm, Trollinger Law, in 2017. The move to open his own practice came after a string of private and collaborative roles where he handled contested matters and courtroom work. As an owner, he manages case strategy and client intake while overseeing the firm's daily operations.
Trollinger has been active in professional organizations for much of his career. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Maryland Association for Justice since 2017 and sits on the board of the Charles County Bar Association. He has been a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and holds membership in the American Association for Justice beginning in 2017. From 2016 to 2017 he chaired the Maryland State Bar Association’s Negligence, Insurance and Workers’ Compensation Section, a role that involved coordinating programming and member discussions on those areas of law.
Colleagues describe his work as practical and detail-oriented. He commonly handles cases that involve negligence, insurance disputes and workers’ compensation issues. His experience in professional associations and bar sections has informed how he evaluates claims and prepares cases for trial. He spends substantial time in negotiation and in courtroom settings when matters do not settle.
Trollinger balances trial preparation with firm management responsibilities. He assigns and mentors staff, oversees litigation budgets and maintains client communications. Since creating Trollinger Law he has steered the firm through evolving local rules and changing procedural landscapes in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.
He maintains a practice centered on civil litigation in the Mid-Atlantic, drawing on his bar memberships and past leadership roles. His current practice focuses on negligence, insurance and workers' compensation matters in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
