About Kyle L
Kyle L Ward built his legal foundation in South Carolina. He earned a J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2009 after studying management and marketing at the University of South Carolina - Columbia. Early on, he moved into public service and courtroom work.
Ward began his courtroom career as an assistant solicitor in the First Circuit Solicitor's Office in 2013. That role put him in the position of prosecuting cases and working closely with law enforcement and victims. The job demanded quick legal judgment and a practical approach to case preparation.
In 2016 he shifted to private practice at The Peck Law Office. The move offered broader exposure to civil matters and the day-to-day work of representing individual clients. He handled client counseling, negotiated settlements and continued regular appearances in state court. That period deepened his experience in litigation and client advocacy.
Three years later, in 2019, Ward became a partner at Templeton, Mims & Ward, LLC. As a partner he assumed management responsibilities alongside his casework. Colleagues and clients have noted his steadier courtroom presence and familiarity with local court procedures. He also developed a practice that included alternative dispute resolution.
Ward holds a certification as a family court mediator from the South Carolina Bar Association. That qualification reflects additional training in negotiation and mediated settlements. It also influenced the direction of his practice after leaving the solicitor's office. He regularly applies mediation techniques to family law matters and contested issues that benefit from a negotiated outcome.
Outside the courtroom, Ward’s background in management and marketing informs how he runs case workflows and communicates with clients. He combines that practical perspective with the procedural knowledge gained from years in both prosecution and private practice. The result is an attorney who knows state court processes and understands the pressures clients face when a case begins.
He is licensed to practice in South Carolina and maintains his practice at Templeton Mims & Ward. His current work includes family court mediation and related civil matters.
