About Jennifer Spragins

Jennifer Spragins Burnett built her path to the law in South Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the College of Charleston in 1992, then returned to the state to complete her J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1998. Those formative academic years set the stage for a steady legal career that has remained tied to the region where she trained.

After law school, Burnett entered private practice. Over the years she has worked through the practical demands of litigation and client representation. She has kept close ties to professional networks that support courtroom advocacy and continuing legal education. Membership in such organizations has been a recurring part of her professional life.

Her professional affiliations include the American Association for Justice and the South Carolina Association for Justice. Both groups provide resources and training for trial lawyers and for attorneys who handle civil justice matters. Burnett’s participation in these associations has involved attending educational programs and engaging with peers on developments in state and national practice areas.

Burnett is an attorney at Harbin & Burnett, LLP. The firm affiliation is a central element of her current practice. At the firm she handles the day-to-day responsibilities of client counsel, case preparation, and courtroom work when matters proceed to trial. Colleagues describe her as steady and precise in legal preparation, and she is known for thorough file management and clear courtroom presentation.

She has balanced courtroom obligations with service in professional circles. That balance keeps her informed about changes in procedure, evidence standards, and trial advocacy techniques. Her career reflects routine involvement in both the nuts and bolts of litigation and the wider professional movements that shape civil justice practice in South Carolina.

Outside of casework, Burnett has remained connected to her alma maters and local professional community. She participates in continuing legal education and in association activities that bring together plaintiff trial lawyers and other civil advocates. Those activities keep her current on statutory changes and evolving case law.

Now practicing at Harbin & Burnett, LLP, Burnett concentrates her work on matters consistent with the civil justice and trial advocacy emphasis common in the associations to which she belongs. Her practice remains focused on representing clients through negotiation and, when necessary, in court.
