About John Christopher

John Christopher Pracht earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the College of Charleston in 2005 and completed his Juris Doctor at the Charleston School of Law in 2008. He moved from the classroom into courtroom preparation during those years. The two degrees set a clear path toward practice in South Carolina.

He began practicing law after law school and has worked in the state ever since. Early in his career he took on a range of matters that built familiarity with trial procedure and the practical demands of client representation. Over time his work sharpened into routine litigation duties and the day-to-day tasks that support courtroom advocacy.

Pracht has been a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice since 2009. That affiliation has kept him connected to a community of peers and to continuing-education opportunities common to trial lawyers in the state. He also holds other professional memberships that extend back to the start of his practice in 2008.

Colleagues describe his approach as straightforward. He prepares evidence and briefs, handles client interviews, and appears in court when cases proceed to trial. He balances courtroom work with negotiated resolutions when cases settle. He spends long hours parsing discovery and building witness examinations. The work is methodical and often time-consuming. He treats each step as a necessary piece of a larger case strategy.

At Thomason & Pracht, LLP he is part of a small firm environment where attorneys share responsibilities and trade tasks. That setting requires both litigation skill and the organizational habits that keep a case moving. He collaborates with co-counsel, consults experts when needed, and manages the litigation calendar that governs filings and hearings.

Outside courtrooms and case files he remains engaged in professional development. He attends seminars and participates in bar-related activities to stay current on rules and procedures in South Carolina practice. He is known among peers for steady preparation and a practical grasp of how to move a case from filing to resolution.

He currently practices at Thomason & Pracht, LLP, where his work centers on litigation and client representation in South Carolina courts.
