About Linda Vallar
Linda Vallar Whisenhunt built her legal foundation in the Carolinas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Furman University in 1986 and completed her law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1989. Those years set the stage for a career that runs through courtrooms and classrooms alike.
Early on she combined practice and teaching. In 1998 she served as head coach and trial advocacy instructor for the Furman University Mock Trial program. That role put her in front of students and in the position of shaping courtroom technique for young advocates. A few years later she moved into public prosecution. In 2004 she joined the 13th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office as an Assistant Solicitor, gaining hands-on experience in criminal litigation and courtroom procedure.
Whisenhunt is admitted to practice in South Carolina and also holds admission to the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Those credentials reflect a practice that has extended into federal appellate work as well as state-level trials. Her courtroom background, both as an instructor and as a prosecutor, informs how she prepares cases and presents evidence.
She later established the Law Office of Linda Vallar Whisenhunt, where she manages client matters and handles litigation. The office operates as a small practice, allowing her to take cases through the entire lifecycle of litigation when needed. Colleagues and former students often note her practical approach to courtroom advocacy and case strategy, a style refined over years of trial work and appellate appearances.
Beyond the courtroom, Whisenhunt has maintained ongoing professional affiliations since 1989. That continuity has kept her connected to developments in practice and procedure. She balances courtroom appearances with mentoring newer lawyers and continuing to teach elements of trial advocacy when opportunities arise. She currently concentrates on trial work and litigation at the Law Office of Linda Vallar Whisenhunt.
