About James M
James M Yoder built his professional foundation in Kentucky. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 2015. He stayed at the same campus for law school and received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2018. The combination of accounting and law shaped how he approaches legal questions early on.
He began working in law offices while still in school. In 2016 he served as a law clerk at Golden Law Office. The following year he took a clerkship with the Executive Branch Ethics Commission. Those two early roles exposed him to both private practice routines and the procedures of public-sector oversight.
After graduation he joined Golden Law Office as an associate in 2018. He handled the day-to-day tasks that come with a small-firm practice and gained courtroom and client-facing experience. In 2019 he moved to Todd & Todd, PLLC, taking on an Of Counsel role. That position put him in closer contact with seasoned litigators and broadened the range of matters he handled.
Yoder’s academic background in accounting continues to inform his work. The training helps him read financial records and assess economic issues that surface in litigation and transactional matters. His time at the Executive Branch Ethics Commission also informed his understanding of public ethics rules and administrative procedures. Those early exposures have made him comfortable handling both client advising and dispute resolution tasks.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and practical in handling legal details. He tends to break complex problems into discrete steps and looks for concrete evidence to support a client’s position. That approach is visible in how he has moved from clerkships to associate duties and then into an of-counsel capacity. He balances research, written advocacy, and client meetings in routine practice.
Outside the office he has kept ties to the Kentucky legal community. He maintains professional memberships and remains engaged with peers who practice in similar areas. As of 2019 he served as Of Counsel at Todd & Todd, PLLC; he practices law in Kentucky, focusing on client representation and advisory work.
