About Eric
Eric Pittman grew up academically inclined toward history and the law. He earned a B.A. in History from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1992 and completed his J.D. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1995. His legal education combined doctrinal study with attention to how courts handle disputes in everyday practice.
After law school he was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1995 and has maintained membership in the State Bar of Illinois since that year. He established a practice in the state and spent the early years building a caseload grounded in state court procedures and client counseling. Those formative years shaped a practice centered on practical problem solving rather than theory alone.
Over time his work has ranged across matters that arise under Illinois law. He represents individuals and entities on legal problems that commonly present in state courts and administrative settings. That work has included litigation, transactional matters and advising clients on statutory and regulatory questions that affect local businesses and private citizens. He handles client intake, case strategy and courtroom appearances when litigation is required.
Pittman keeps an active presence in the professional community through his long-standing State Bar membership. He has remained in the bar continuously since 1995, following developments in state law and practice. Colleagues and clients have come to rely on a steady, methodical approach to resolving disputes and completing transactions, and he often emphasizes clear communication and practical options when advising clients.
He practices from The Law Offices of J. Eric Pittman. The office serves clients across Illinois on matters that arise under state law. He continues to accept new matters and to represent clients in both contested and transactional work in the Illinois legal system.
