About Don

Don Pesce built a legal career that moves between courtrooms and conference rooms. He studied political and legal systems at DePaul University, earning a B.A. in 2000. He continued his legal education at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, where he received his J.D. in 2005.

After law school he established a practice that spans two states. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and Florida. In 2015 he opened Pesce Law Group, creating a small firm intended to handle contested matters and alternative dispute resolution. That move followed several years of courtroom exposure and work that tested both negotiation skills and the mechanics of litigation.

Pesce’s credentials reflect a mix of traditional and nonlitigious dispute resolution. He holds mediator certification in DuPage County and is an approved guardian ad litem for DuPage and Kane counties. He is also an arbitrator in DuPage and Cook counties. He completed collaborative law training through the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and maintains membership in that organization. He is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

Clients and colleagues describe him as practical and straightforward. He appears in family court matters and handles courtroom hearings when cases cannot be resolved outside of litigation. At the same time he regularly serves as a mediator and arbitrator, and accepts appointments as guardian ad litem when courts appoint a neutral to investigate a child’s best interests. His approach emphasizes process: choosing the right forum for a dispute rather than defaulting to a single method.

Pesce runs Pesce Law Group, P.C., which operates multiple offices, including a Burr Ridge location. The firm represents individuals in family-related disputes and offers alternatives to trial through mediation, arbitration, and collaborative practice. He balances advocacy in contested proceedings with roles that require neutrality and fact-finding.

He continues to participate in professional organizations that promote collaborative practice and alternative dispute resolution. His certifications and memberships keep him connected to local court systems and procedural developments. He currently concentrates his practice on family law, mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law matters.
