About Michael

Michael Hudzik began his legal path with study in psychology and business. He earned a B.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from Dominican University in 2006. He stayed in the Chicago area for law school and completed his J.D. at DePaul College of Law in 2009.

Early in his career Hudzik balanced classroom work with practical experience. In 2007 he held several law clerk positions, including roles at small firms and solo practitioners. Those early years gave him front-line exposure to client intake, discovery and courtroom procedure. He served as an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 law clerk in DuPage County in 2009, a role that placed him in regular contact with county-level prosecutors and court staff.

After law school he moved into associate-level work. By 2011 he was an attorney at Sullivan Taylor & Gumina, P.C., where he handled matters typical for a family law practice, including case preparation and client counseling. The steady progression from clerk to associate reflects a common career arc: hands-on procedural work followed by increasing responsibility for cases and client relationships.

In 2022 he began working at Hudzik & Vechiola, LLC. He holds a Guardian ad Litem certification from the DuPage County Bar Association and participates in family-court appointments. That credential signals familiarity with custody evaluations and representation of children’s interests in contested family matters. He also engages in matters that intersect with real property and finance, topics that often arise in divorce and family law disputes.

Outside the office he maintains active memberships in a range of professional organizations. He joined the Illinois State Bar Association and its Family Law Section in 2009 and 2011 respectively. He has been part of the DuPage County Bar Association and its Family Law and Real Estate Committees since 2009. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Chicago Bar Association and serves on the Advisory Board of the Divorce Lending Association. Those affiliations give him ongoing access to continuing education and to peers who handle complex divorce finance and property issues.

Peers and clients encounter an attorney who combines courtroom experience from early clerkships with years of practice in family law environments. He continues to practice in Illinois and maintains an active role at Hudzik & Vechiola, LLC, where his work centers on family law, divorce-related financial issues and related real estate matters.
