About Rachel Marie
Rachel Marie Bloom earned her law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2009 after studies at Western Illinois University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration, and earlier coursework at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She also holds a Judicial Opinion Writing Certificate from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Her academic path combined classroom work and practical training that led directly into a variety of legal roles in both state and federal settings.
Bloom began building courtroom and office experience soon after law school. In 2009 she worked as a legal intern and collections specialist in a county states attorney's office. She served as a law clerk in 2010 and spent 2011 as a legal intern at the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of North Carolina. In 2012 she took on contract work at Mayer Brown LLP and worked as a rules lawyer for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, alongside a volunteer stint with Legal Aid of North Carolina. In 2013 she held several contract lawyer positions and was listed as an associate at the Law Office of Ken Wang.
Her record shows exposure to a range of legal practice settings. She handled collections matters early on and gained experience with criminal defense through her time with the federal public defender's office. Her role at the state health agency involved administrative rules and regulatory work, and her contract work included assignments at both large firm and smaller office environments. Since 2013 she has maintained memberships in several professional organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, county bar associations in DuPage, Will and Kane counties, and the Dupage Association of Women Lawyers.
Bloom is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Illinois and continues to work from private practice. She practices at the Law Office of Ken Wang and represents clients in matters that reflect her background in civil representation, administrative rule issues and collections. Her current practice focuses on representing clients in civil, administrative and collections matters across North Carolina and Illinois.
