About Ken

Ken Wang studied both numbers and law at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science in 2000 and returned to the same campus for his Juris Doctor, awarded in 2004. Those years at Illinois shaped a practice that blends analytical training and courtroom work in a state he has practiced in for decades.

After law school he entered public service in McDonough County. He joined the McDonough County State's Attorney’s Office in 2009 as an assistant. He took on increasing responsibilities and was promoted to First Assistant State's Attorney in 2011. In those roles he handled criminal prosecutions and office administration, and he oversaw case preparation and courtroom strategy for trials in county court.

In 2013 he shifted from county government to private practice, setting up the Law Office of Ken Wang and serving as its managing lawyer. That move returned him to one-on-one work with clients. Managing his own office required balancing client work, case intake, and the daily operations of a small firm. It also meant navigating a broader set of matters than his earlier government work provided.

Wang has been active in bar associations across the state. He has belonged to the Illinois State Bar Association since 2007. He was an officer in the McDonough County Bar Association, serving as secretary-treasurer from 2011 to 2012, and as president from 2012 to 2013. He has also held memberships in the DuPage County and Will County bar associations since 2013. Those roles have kept him engaged with local colleagues and the procedural developments that affect county and municipal practice.

His background in mathematics and computer science informs how he approaches evidence and case preparation. That analytical foundation has been useful in complex filings and in organizing case facts for juries and judges. The combination of prosecutorial experience and private practice gives him a perspective on both sides of litigation.

Clients who seek his help can expect a lawyer who has moved through the ranks of a county prosecutor’s office into managing his own practice. He keeps active in bar organizations and in the courts of Illinois. He currently practices at the Law Office of Ken Wang, where his work centers on business matters.
