About Delia Anne
Delia Anne Dougherty built a formal legal education across three institutions in the northeastern United States. She earned a B.A. from Rutgers University–New Brunswick in 1998. She then completed her J.D. at Widener University in 2001. Two years later she returned to the classroom for an LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law, awarded in 2003.
Her early path moved from academic study to practice. She has served as an associate at Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A. There she joined day-to-day firm work, taking on tasks typical for associates: research, drafting, and client representation under the supervision of more senior attorneys. The record shows continuing ties to the firm’s New Jersey office.
Licensing and court admissions broaden the range of matters she may handle. Dougherty is admitted to the bars of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She also holds admission to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Those credentials allow her to appear in both state and federal tribunals across the two states.
Her LL.M. in Taxation signals formal training in tax law. That graduate degree often equips attorneys to advise on tax issues, prepare filings, and handle disputes that intersect with federal rules. In practice, such training can inform both advisory work and litigation when tax questions arise. She also participates in the state bar organizations for both New Jersey and Pennsylvania as a current member, which keeps her connected to professional developments and local practice rules.
Colleagues and clients who have worked with her describe a lawyer who handles routine and complex tasks that firms assign to associates. Her admissions to multiple courts and her advanced tax credential suggest an ability to move from research and preparation to courtroom or administrative advocacy when cases require it.
She is based in Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A.’s New Jersey office. She practices at the firm, handling tax-related matters and civil matters arising in state and federal courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
