About Alan I.
Alan I. Moldoff graduated from Rutgers School of Law–Newark in 1979 after earning a B.A. from Rutgers University–Camden in 1974. He entered the legal profession at a time of change in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts. His academic record sits behind a long career that has taken him into federal and state courtrooms across the mid-Atlantic.
He built his practice steadily after law school and later joined Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A. as of counsel. That role places him alongside trial teams and other senior lawyers, contributing experience on complex matters while remaining available to consult on cases that require courtroom or appellate familiarity. Over the years he has handled matters that routed through state benches and into federal district and circuit dockets.
Moldoff is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and holds admissions to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He has appeared in both trial and appellate settings, representing clients before judges in state and federal systems. His court admissions enable him to carry matters from local trial courts to the regional appellate level when necessary.
Outside the courtroom he has maintained an active profile in civic and professional organizations. He holds membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and serves as vice president of the board of trustees for the Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey. He is a past president of a B’nai B’rith chapter and sits on the steering committee for the Jewish Federation of Southern Jersey’s annual fundraiser. He also volunteers with the Philadelphia Reads program for the Philadelphia School District, spending time on literacy initiatives for children in the city.
Colleagues describe his practice style as steady and pragmatic, the kind that emphasizes preparation and clear advocacy rather than rhetoric. In his current position as of counsel at Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A., he continues to accept matters in both state and federal courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and assists on appeals in the Third Circuit.
