About Cody J.

Cody J. Blades is an attorney admitted to practice in Minnesota and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He earned his juris doctor from Hamline University School of Law in 2014 after completing law studies that began in 2011. The law degree informed his approach to litigation and appellate work and set the stage for his practice in regional courts.

Early in his career Blades moved into courtroom work and appellate advocacy. He has built experience handling filings and hearings in Minnesota courts and drafting briefs for federal appellate review. Admission to the Eighth Circuit expanded the venues where he can represent clients. That credential has shaped the kinds of matters he takes to brief and on appeal.

Blades works at Parker Daniels Kibort, LLC. At the firm he contributes to client matters that require court filings, appellate briefs and oral argument preparation. His work involves research, drafting and presenting legal positions to judges and opposing counsel. He brings a methodical approach to procedural preparation and aims for clarity in written advocacy.

Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and attentive to the written record. He is accustomed to the pacing of appeals, where deadlines and precision matter. In trial settings he focuses on building a clean record that supports any subsequent review. Those habits reflect training and early practice after law school rather than any single case or headline matter.

Outside of court dockets Blades participates in the internal processes at his firm that shape case strategy. He collaborates on pleadings and briefing, and he works with clients to explain the steps involved in taking a matter through Minnesota courts and, where applicable, to the Eighth Circuit. The practical demands of litigation—deadlines, discovery and motion practice—figure regularly in his professional routine.

He remains professionally active in the courtrooms and appellate benches where he is admitted. His practice is centered in Minnesota and includes representation before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Currently he practices at Parker Daniels Kibort, LLC and continues to handle matters that arise in state and federal appellate proceedings.
