About Bruce

Bruce Luckman graduated from Boston University in 1980 and earned his J.D. from Suffolk University in 1983. He moved into private practice after law school and built a practice that has included substantial work in commercial litigation and federal court matters. His academic background in New England law schools set the stage for a career spanning several states and multiple federal jurisdictions.

Early in his career Luckman handled a range of civil matters and over time gravitated toward disputes arising from business relationships and commercial transactions. In 2011 he served as a commercial litigator at Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A., a role that placed him in cases that required motion work, discovery management and trial preparation. His work there reflected an emphasis on the procedural and substantive tools that civil litigation demands.

Luckman holds active memberships in the Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania state bars. He is admitted to practice in a number of federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Northern District of New York, the District of New Jersey, the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and the Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania. He is also admitted across several federal circuits: the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Circuits. Those admissions have allowed him to work on matters at both the trial and appellate levels.

Colleagues describe Luckman as a lawyer who prefers clear analysis and preparation over rhetoric. He has spent much of his time drafting dispositive motions, handling complex discovery issues and preparing cases for trial ready for adjudication in federal forums. He has experience coordinating litigation strategies across state and federal lines, and he has handled matters that require attention to procedural detail and deadlines.

He continues to practice at Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A., where his work remains focused on commercial litigation and federal court practice. His current practice focuses on commercial disputes and related federal court matters.
