About Blake Gavin
Blake Gavin Iverson grew up curious about stories and systems. He studied history, cultural studies and comparative literature at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2003.
His undergraduate work trained him to read closely and to place facts in context. Those skills carried over to law school, where he built a foundation in legal research and written advocacy. After graduation he took the steps necessary to practice in Minnesota and began shaping a career that kept him rooted in the state.
Iverson joined Friedman Iverson, PLLC and became a partner in 2008. That promotion came after several years at the firm during which he took on increasing responsibility. As a partner he has handled client matters, supervised younger attorneys and participated in firm decision making. His role involves case preparation, courtroom work and drafting pleadings and agreements when required.
Colleagues describe him as steady and methodical in the way he approaches legal problems. He favors careful preparation. He pays attention to detail and timelines. He also places a practical value on clear communication, whether in written filings or in conversations with clients and opposing counsel. In Minnesota courtrooms he has represented clients in matters that required both legal analysis and an ability to explain complex issues in simple terms.
Outside the courtroom Iverson has been involved in mentoring newer lawyers at his firm and in developing office practices aimed at improving workflow. He has stayed connected to the University of Minnesota through alumni events and occasional guest talks. He remains based in Minnesota and continues to serve clients through Friedman Iverson, PLLC. He currently concentrates his practice at Friedman Iverson, PLLC on legal matters arising in Minnesota.
