About Rajin Singh

Rajin Singh Olson earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2016. He completed a concentration in civil litigation there after graduating from Iowa State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science that combined civil engineering, Spanish, and international studies, plus a minor in economics. The mix of technical training and legal education shows through in his admissions and memberships.

After law school Olson gained admission to several courts and tribunals that often handle technical and federal matters. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Circuit. He also holds admission in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the 3rd Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Those credentials allow him to appear in trial and appellate settings and in patent prosecution before the Patent Office.

Olson participates in professional organizations that reflect both federal practice and local bar involvement. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and the Hennepin County Bar Association. Those memberships connect him to peers across practice areas and provide forums for continuing legal education and professional exchange.

His undergraduate background in civil engineering complements the legal training he received at University of Minnesota. The combination is often relevant where legal issues touch on technology, engineering, or cross-border matters that require language skills and cultural context. Olson’s J.D. concentration in civil litigation provided formal training in litigation strategy, motion practice, and courtroom procedure.

Olson is an attorney at Robins Kaplan LLP. At the firm he draws on both technical and procedural credentials. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and precise in technical analysis. Clients benefit from counsel who understands both engineering concepts and the procedural avenues available at the district, circuit and patent-office levels.

He maintains an active practice that includes work in federal courts and before the Patent and Trademark Office. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and intellectual property matters.
