About Anthony John

Anthony John Falangetti is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1994. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Falangetti is the founder and managing attorney at West Coast Defense, a criminal defense law firm located in Long Beach, California. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Torrance, Pasadena, Santa Ana, Van Nuys, and Orange County.

Mr. Falangetti earned his Juris Doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 1994, graduating with honors. During his time at McGeorge, he was a member of the Traynor Honors Society and received the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association Award for First Honors in Trial Advocacy. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Law and Society in 1991.

Mr. Falangetti concentrates his practice in criminal defense, handling a wide range of cases including DUI/DWI, white-collar crimes, drug offenses, theft, and violent crimes. He represents individuals at all stages of the criminal justice process, from initial case evaluation and pre-trial motions to trial proceedings and appeals. His extensive experience includes defending high-profile clients and achieving favorable outcomes in complex cases.

Throughout his career, Mr. Falangetti has been admitted to practice before several courts, including the Superior Courts of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He began his legal career as a clerk for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and later served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for nearly 14 years. During his tenure, he prosecuted numerous felony cases, including over 40 murder cases, and worked in various courthouses such as Torrance, Long Beach, Inglewood, and downtown Los Angeles.

Mr. Falangetti is an active member of the California State Bar and has been recognized for his contributions to the legal field. He has been selected to the California Super Lawyers list from 2012 to 2026 and has received commendations from the U.S. Congress, the California State Senate, and the California State Assembly. He is also involved in community initiatives, including efforts to address substandard housing conditions in Southern California. Mr. Falangetti is fluent in English and Spanish, enabling him to effectively serve a diverse clientele.
