About Alyssa C.
Alyssa C. Shorstein began her legal path at Flagler College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2005. She went on to study law at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2009. Those formative years set a clear direction. Coursework, clinics and early practice experiences shaped how she approaches client matters today.
Her early professional roles moved quickly from student to practicing lawyer. In 2009 she served as CEO of Alyssa C Camper, Lawyer at Law PA, a role she held while launching the next phase of her career. She later established the Law Office of Shorstein & Lee, which is listed as her current firm. Over time she built a practice that handles a mix of issues in state and federal forums.
Shorstein is admitted to practice in Florida and in several federal courts. Her admissions include the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and their respective bankruptcy courts. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in both bankruptcy proceedings and other federal litigation when cases require it.
Her professional involvement extends beyond courtrooms. She has been active in the Florida Bar’s Criminal Law and Real Property, Probate & Trust sections. She served on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee from 2014 to 2017. Locally, she has taken on a leadership role as CLE chair for the St. Johns County Bar Association beginning in 2016 and continuing to the present. She is also a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and holds membership in the St. Johns County Sports Club.
Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in courtroom settings and deliberate in pretrial work. She handles criminal defense matters and works on issues tied to real property, probate and trust disputes. She represents individuals in state court and appears in federal bankruptcy and district courts when cases require filing in those forums.
She maintains an office at the Law Office of Shorstein & Lee, where she manages client matters and litigation. Her calendar includes trial preparation, client consultations and participation in continuing legal education programs. Her current practice focuses on criminal defense and matters involving real property, probate and trusts.
