About Allison
Allison Dunlap moved from business classrooms into courtrooms over the course of a single decade. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Campbell University and later took her law degree at Elon University School of Law, finishing her J.D. in 2019. The switch from business to law shaped how she approaches cases: practical, procedural and attentive to detail.
Her early legal experience came during law school and immediately after. In 2018 she worked as a summer law clerk at The Law Office of A. L. Collins, PLLC. After graduating she served as a resident in practice at the Guilford County District Lawyer's Office in 2019. That position gave her hands-on exposure to daily courtroom work and case preparation. She joined Minick Law, P.C. first as a legal assistant in 2020 and moved into an associate lawyer role there in 2021.
Dunlap is licensed to practice in North Carolina and holds current membership in the North Carolina State Bar. She is also an active member of the Greensboro Bar Association. Those memberships reflect an ongoing connection to the local legal community and to the procedures and rules that shape practice in the state.
Her training includes a certification in DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. That credential is technical and evidence-driven. It informs how she reviews police reports, interprets sobriety testing and prepares cross-examination on those subjects. The combination of county-level practice early in her career and that specific training has been a through line in the types of matters she handles.
Colleagues describe her work style as methodical: she prepares written motions, attends hearings and handles client interviews with an eye to both legal detail and the practical outcomes clients face. At Minick Law she progressed from support staff to an associate attorney in a short span, taking on more responsibility for case strategy and courtroom appearances.
She now practices at Minick Law, P.C., where her work concentrates on DUI and other criminal defense matters.
