About Alexander E.

Alexander E. Blum took an unconventional path to law. He earned a B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago in 2003. That humanities background preceded his move to legal study, and he graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2010. Those years on two different campuses shaped a methodical approach to research and writing.

After law school, Blum joined the legal profession as an associate. His professional biography lists Mantese Honigman, P.C. as his affiliation. At the firm he stepped into routine duties for an early-career associate: drafting briefs, conducting discovery, and supporting trial preparation. Colleagues describe the work of an associate as detail-driven and deadline-oriented; Blum’s academic training and early practice experience both reinforced those habits.

Blum’s undergraduate specialty in Slavic languages is a distinctive element in a legal résumé. That study required close textual analysis, attentiveness to nuance and a comfort with complex grammar. Those abilities translate into careful reading of statutes, meticulous review of contracts and a preference for precise language in pleadings. His trajectory from humanities into law is a reminder that legal reasoning often benefits from broader intellectual training.

At Wayne State University Law School Blum completed his J.D. in 2010. During that time, students typically engage in classroom instruction, clinical work and externships. For new attorneys, early years after law school are used to develop courtroom skills, deepen substantive knowledge and learn firm procedures. Blum’s subsequent role as an associate placed him squarely in that developmental stage. He has worked on the varied tasks an associate handles, from research memos to client calls and courtroom filings.

Today Blum remains an associate at Mantese Honigman, P.C. He continues to build practical experience through case work and client contact. He combines his law school training with the analytical habits formed during his undergraduate studies. He currently practices at Mantese Honigman, P.C., handling case preparation, legal research and client representation.
