About Alex

Alex Ruiz took a practical route through law school. He earned a J.D. from Chapman University Fowler School of Law in 2018 after completing a B.S. at La Sierra University in 2015. During those years he combined classroom work with placements that put him inside courtrooms and community organizations.

His earliest law-related placement came in 2016 as a State Bar Certified Law Student at the Lawyers Committee for Better Housing, Inc. That role exposed him to tenant-advocacy work and the mechanics of housing-related legal assistance. In 2017 he served as a legal extern at the Superior Court of California and worked as a law clerk for the Orange County District Lawyer. Those positions involved legal research, drafting court documents and observing proceedings from the bench and counsel tables.

After passing through these public-service and court-side roles, Ruiz took a position in private practice. In 2018 he joined Sarieh Law Offices, Alc. as a lawyer. There he handled case preparation and client communications and gained hands-on experience in managing files from intake through litigation steps. The work further developed his courtroom experience and familiarity with procedural practice in California courts.

In 2021 Ruiz moved to Holstrom, Block & Parke, APLC. He is listed as a lawyer at that firm beginning in 2021. At Holstrom, Block & Parke he continued to build his practice, applying the trial-room perspective he had developed during his clerkships and externships. The firm setting allowed him to work on a broader slate of matters and to collaborate with more senior trial attorneys on strategy and filings.

Throughout his career Ruiz has worked exclusively in California. His background includes placements in court settings and in nonprofit housing advocacy, and his early years as a practicing attorney involved managing client matters and courtroom filings. Those experiences have given him steady exposure to litigation tasks, research and the cadence of court schedules.

Today he practices in California at Holstrom, Block and Parke, APLC, handling litigation and client representation in state courts.
