About W. Christopher

W. Christopher Componovo earned his J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1993. He trained in law during a period of change in Delaware’s courts and then built a practice that spans state and federal jurisdictions. His education at Widener provided the foundation for a career that has mixed legal practice and professional leadership.

Componovo is counsel at Morris James LLP. He has been listed as counsel at the firm and maintains an office there. Over the years he has engaged in bar and association work alongside his practice. Those activities have kept him connected to the practical and procedural developments that affect trial and appellate work in the region.

He is admitted to practice in Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia. That multi-jurisdictional standing allows him to handle matters that touch more than one court system. He represents clients in proceedings across those jurisdictions and routinely addresses procedural differences among them.

Much of his public professional profile reflects long-term engagement with organized bar groups. He served in various board positions in the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association from 1998 through 2012, and he was the association’s president for the 2007–2008 term. Those roles involved governance of the association and participation in programs aimed at improving practice standards and member services. He is also a member of the Holland Inn of Court, an organization that brings judges and lawyers together to discuss ethics and technique.

Colleagues describe him as steady and practical. That reputation grew in part from years of association work and in part from routine courtroom and office practice. He has balanced firm responsibilities with the time demands of bar leadership, a combination that has given him perspective on both client needs and professional obligations.

The arc of Componovo’s career runs from a Widener law degree in 1993 to sustained practice and professional involvement across three jurisdictions. He continues to serve as counsel at Morris James LLP. His current practice focuses on representing clients in matters across Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
