About Matthew

Matthew Fogg earned his J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 2002. He moved into practice in the Mid-Atlantic region and holds licenses in both Delaware and New Jersey. Those credentials underpin a career that blends practice before administrative tribunals with courtroom work.

Early in his career he concentrated on litigation and regulatory practice. He developed practical experience handling contested hearings and motions, and he has spent significant time in matters that arise from workplace injury and employer-employee disputes. Over the years he has represented clients at various stages of dispute resolution, including trial-level hearings and appellate matters.

He has been active in professional organizations that shape practice standards around workplace injury and trial practice. He is a member of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association. He also belongs to the Randy J. Holland Delaware Workers Compensation American Inn of Court and has served in that Inn’s leadership as a past president. His work in those groups includes mentoring newer practitioners and participating in programs intended to improve practice before the workers’ compensation system.

At Morris James LLP he is part of a team that handles matters arising from workplace incidents and related civil litigation. His work involves preparing pleadings, taking and defending depositions, drafting briefs for hearings, and advocating before administrative judges and trial courts. He advises clients on case strategy, settlement options, and procedural posture. He also assists in coordinating medical and vocational evidence pertinent to claims.

Colleagues describe him as someone who attends to procedural detail and moves a case through the system steadily. He balances the day-to-day demands of contested hearings with the longer view needed for appeals or complex litigation. Outside the office he continues to participate in continuing legal education and Inn of Court activities aimed at improving advocacy in workers’ compensation matters.

His practice spans both Delaware and New Jersey and centers on workers’ compensation disputes and related civil litigation. He practices at Morris James LLP and continues to handle hearings, trials and appeals in workplace injury cases and associated legal matters.
