About Vytas Matthew

Vytas Matthew Rimas is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in both California and Minnesota. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1986. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Rimas is the founder and principal attorney at Rimas Law Firm PLLC, a law firm located in Minnetonka, Minnesota. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout Minnesota and California.

Mr. Rimas earned his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. During his time at Golden Gate University, he was recognized with the National Writing Award from the University of Southern California Computer Law Center.

Mr. Rimas concentrates his practice in the areas of business law, intellectual property, arbitration and mediation, appeals and appellate law, legal malpractice, insurance claims, and employment law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving breach of contract, property damage, patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret infringement, as well as employment disputes. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.

Throughout his career, Mr. Rimas has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In Minnesota, he has appeared before the Minnesota District Courts and the Minnesota Court of Appeals. He is also admitted to practice in various federal courts throughout the United States. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City, California, for five years.

Mr. Rimas is an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. He holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. He is also a certified mediator through the Minnesota General Rules of Practice, allowing him to serve as a qualified neutral mediator under Rule 114. Mr. Rimas is fluent in English and Lithuanian, enabling him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
