About Mark David

Mark David Luther trained at two well-known institutions before entering private practice. He earned a J.D. from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in 1973. Earlier he completed undergraduate studies at George Washington University — Virginia Campus, Columbia College, where he read history and received his B.A.

His legal career began the year he finished law school. Since 1973 he has worked in private practice. That continuity, over more than five decades, marks the through-line of his professional life. He has kept a steady presence in the bar and maintained active professional memberships.

Luther is admitted to practice in Minnesota and is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect a practice that operates at both state and national levels. He has handled client matters in state venues while retaining the credential to participate in proceedings before the nation’s highest court.

For most of his career he has worked out of a small firm setting. He operates the Mark Luther Law Office. Over the years he has balanced courtroom work, client counseling and the day-to-day demands of running a solo or small office practice. His longtime work in private practice has required adapting to changes in law, procedure and client expectations.

Colleagues and clients who have worked with him note that his approach is steady and pragmatic. He relies on years of routine practice rather than on publicity or litigation spectacle. That temperament fits a practice model built around ongoing client relationships and repeated interactions with local courts and administrative bodies.

Outside the office he has remained connected to the profession through current association memberships. Those affiliations have kept him linked to developments in law and to his peers across Minnesota and beyond.

Now in the later stages of a long career, Luther continues to serve clients through the Mark Luther Law Office. His current practice focuses on representing clients in Minnesota and handling matters that arise in his admitted jurisdictions.
