About Victoria
Victoria Snell earned her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2001 and moved into practice in Florida. Her legal training coincided with early involvement in professional organizations; she joined the Florida Association of Women Lawyers in 2000 and remained active there thereafter. Those early connections helped shape a career that blends courtroom work and dispute resolution.
After law school, Snell built a practice that led to roles in both mediation circles and family law committees. She has been a member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators since 2010, which reflects long-standing ties to alternative dispute resolution. Between 2014 and 2017 she participated in The American Inns of Court, a forum that brings together judges, experienced lawyers and newer attorneys to discuss ethics and practice techniques.
In 2018 she joined Meriwether & Tharp, LLC as a lawyer. That position is the most recent firm affiliation on record and marks a period of steady professional activity. Since then she has also served on two standing bodies of The Florida Bar: the Family Law Rules Committee and the Education Committee, both memberships beginning in 2019 and continuing to the present. Those roles require close attention to procedural rules and educational outreach within the bar.
Snell’s committee work and memberships suggest an attorney who splits time between contested matters and efforts to reduce conflict through mediation. Her long tenure with the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators indicates familiarity with mediation processes, and her place on the Family Law Rules Committee signals engagement with the rules that govern family court practice in Florida. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and practice-oriented, placing emphasis on process as much as outcomes.
She has balanced bench-side procedure and in-the-room negotiation. That balance shows in her involvement with the Education Committee, where programming and training for lawyers and judges are often discussed. The American Inns of Court participation adds an element of peer dialogue and ethics to her resume.
Today Snell practices in Florida and continues her memberships in state and national groups related to family law and mediation. Her current practice at Meriwether & Tharp, LLC centers on family law matters and alternative dispute resolution, where she handles both negotiated settlements and litigated proceedings.
