About Ophelia G.
Ophelia G. Bernal-Mora earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2001 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in 2000. Those years set the foundation for a steady legal career anchored in Florida courts. Education gave her the credentials. The work that followed shaped the practice.
She began public service soon after law school. In 2004 she joined the Office of the State Lawyer for Florida’s 5th Circuit as an Assistant State Lawyer. That role put her in court and in the thick of routine prosecutorial work. She moved into private practice in 2006 as an associate at the Law Office of Stephen K. Miller, P.A. Four years later she took an associate position with Pamela J. Helton, P.A., continuing to build litigation and client-handling experience.
Bernal-Mora launched her own solo practice in 2011 under the name Law Office of Ophelia Bernal-Mora, P.A. Running a small firm required shifting from casework alone to managing administrative and business tasks as well. In 2016 she formed Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou, P.A., where she serves as owner and lawyer. The firm provides a platform for her to handle client matters while overseeing operations and mentoring staff.
She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2004. Local and federal memberships reflect a long-standing presence in the Central Florida legal community. She belongs to the Orange County Bar Association, the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Hispanic Bar Association, and the Central Florida Inns of Court. She also holds membership in the Middle District of Florida. Those affiliations keep her engaged with continuing education, peer networks, and court procedures.
Colleagues describe her practice as grounded and practical. Her background spans public prosecution and private practice, and that mix informs how she evaluates cases and advises clients. Outside the office she participates in bar activities and attends local Inns events aimed at improving courtroom practice. She continues to manage and practice at Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou, P.A., where she oversees client matters and the firm’s legal work.
She currently practices at Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou, P.A., focusing on client service and firm management.
