About Tod J.
Tod J. Everage built a pathway from science to law. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Louisiana State University in 2004. Five years later he completed his J.D. at Loyola University New Orleans in 2009. Those academic years gave him a mix of technical grounding and legal training that shapes his courtroom work.
He began his legal career as an associate at McGlinchey Stafford in 2009. Two years later he joined Kean Miller LLP and became a partner in 2011. He has handled matters in both state and federal forums, and his practice grew to include disputes common to coastal and industrial industries.
Everage is admitted in Louisiana and Texas. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and to the Fifth Circuit. That federal access has been important in the commercial and admiralty cases he litigates.
His professional affiliations reflect the sectors he serves. He is a member of the Offshore Marine Services Association and the New Orleans Mariners Club, and participates in Young Pipeline Professionals. He belongs to both the Louisiana State Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He also holds memberships in the New Orleans Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. Locally, he takes part in civic networks such as the Young Leadership Council and serves on the Dig Law Advisory Committee.
Clients and opposing counsel see him most often in matters tied to maritime, pipeline and energy-related commercial disputes. His work ranges from pre-suit counseling to trial-level litigation in state and federal court. The combination of a science background and courtroom experience informs his handling of technically complex cases.
He continues to practice at Kean Miller LLP, where he represents clients in maritime, pipeline, energy and related commercial litigation matters.
