About Michael A.
Michael A. Levatino took a steady path into the law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of New Orleans in 2018 and completed his Juris Doctor at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2021. Those years in New Orleans shaped his early legal training and rooted him in the region where he now practices.
After law school, Levatino joined Kean Miller LLP as an associate. Colleagues describe him as deliberate in court preparation and precise in written work. He gained admission to practice in Louisiana and to several federal courts early in his career, including the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Levatino’s day-to-day work involves representation in state and federal forums. He appears in and prepares filings for matters before the district courts and addresses appellate issues in the Fifth Circuit. That practical exposure gives him regular contact with procedural and evidentiary questions, and with the mechanics of litigation from filing through disposition.
Outside the courtroom, he participates in bar activities in New Orleans. He holds memberships in the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association and the New Orleans Federal Bar Association. Those organizations provide a professional forum for continuing legal education and local networking. He has taken part in panels and seminars organized by local bar groups, which supplement his trial and appellate practice.
Peers say Levatino values clear legal writing and careful analysis. He practices within a team at Kean Miller, collaborating with more senior attorneys on complex motions and discovery issues, while managing discrete tasks independently. That structure allows him to develop courtroom skills and to handle client communications on active matters.
Levatino lives and works in Louisiana and spends much of his professional time preparing court briefs, arguing motions and assisting with trial preparation. He balances case work with ongoing study of procedural developments and federal court decisions that affect litigation practice in the region. He currently practices at Kean Miller LLP, where his work centers on litigation in Louisiana state and federal courts.
