About Taylor

Taylor Traut built a steady path from an Ivy League undergraduate degree to a West Coast law school and into consumer advocacy. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. She later earned her Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law in 2011.

While in law school, Traut gained early courtroom exposure and regulatory experience. In 2008 she served as a law clerk to the Honorable James R. Dabney at the Los Angeles Superior Court. The following year she worked as a law clerk for Consumer Watchdog, where she assisted on matters that intersected public policy and consumer protection.

Those experiences helped shape how she practices law. Traut has stayed involved in organizations that bring together plaintiff attorneys and trial lawyers. She holds memberships in the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and the Consumer Attorneys of California. She also participates in the Banyard Inns of Court and the Orange County Bar Association, groups that blend mentoring, continuing education and professional networking.

Her career trajectory is marked more by steady practice and association work than by public headlines. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She balances case preparation, client counseling and courtroom appearances. She has handled matters that require both negotiation and litigation strategy.

Traut operates from the Traut Firm. The firm handles cases on behalf of individuals, and its roster reflects an emphasis on consumer-oriented claims. Inside the office she spends time drafting pleadings, preparing motions and managing discovery. Outside court, she continues to engage with local bar groups and specialty organizations that focus on trial practice and consumer issues.

Her background in economics and formal legal training give her a blend of analytical and procedural skills. That combination informs how she evaluates damages, structures arguments and selects expert support. She often draws on those skill sets when building cases that involve financial harm or regulatory questions.

Peers note that Traut prioritizes practical results over publicity. She steers cases through early stages and into trial when necessary. She also contributes to the professional community through participation in Inns of Court programs and CLE offerings aimed at courtroom technique.

She currently practices consumer protection and plaintiff-side consumer litigation at the Traut Firm.
