About Tara L.
Tara L. Tighe earned a J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 2013 after completing a B.A. in history, Spanish and economics at Tufts University in 2010. She arrived at law school following several years of work and study that combined archival practice and international exposure. Those earlier experiences informed her approach to legal problems and gave her practical insight into records and government processes.
While at Tufts and immediately after, she worked at the National Archives and Records Administration. She served as an archives technician in 2010 and later returned as a legal intern in 2011 for the Controlled Unclassified Information Office. In 2012 she took on several roles that broadened her legal training: a law clerk position at P.K. Hammar Legal, P.C., internships with PKH Enterprises, and a legal internship at the United States Department of State at the Embassy in Madrid. These positions involved hands-on work with documents, regulatory materials and international legal contexts.
After finishing law school, she joined Cohen & Cohen, P.C. as a litigation associate in 2013. That role placed her in civil litigation matters early in her career and gave her courtroom and case-management experience. The work required drafting, discovery, and client interaction, and it exposed her to the procedural demands of contested matters.
Tighe is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Those admissions mirror the geographic scope of her early employment and internships. Her education in history and Spanish, combined with archival work and State Department experience, contributes to an ability to handle records-intensive and administratively complex matters. She has experience that intersects litigation, document control and questions that arise in government-related contexts.
She practices at TLT Legal Services, PLLC. Her office history and background suggest she is comfortable handling litigation tasks alongside issues involving records, controlled information and administrative proceedings. She currently practices at TLT Legal Services, PLLC, handling civil litigation, records and information matters, and administrative law matters.
