About Steve
Steve Nieters built his legal foundation in the Midwest. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and philosophy from Benedictine College in 1982. Three years later he received a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law.
He began his legal career in St. Louis as a litigation associate at Bryan Cave in 1985. That early stint placed him in the thick of complex courtroom work and firm practice life. It also set the tone for a career that would balance litigation and health law interests.
A decade into practice, Nieters returned to Saint Louis University as an instructor and took on editorial duties for the Journal of Health Law in 1995. Those roles tied him to the academic side of health law and exposed him to the regulatory and policy debates shaping the field. Teaching and editing kept him connected to emerging scholarship while his litigation work continued.
Nieters later moved into firm leadership. He is listed as a leader at Bulso & Nolan, PLC. That position suggests responsibilities beyond one-on-one client representation. He has overseen teams, handled administrative tasks and helped shape firm strategy, while still stepping into court when the case demands it.
He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Tennessee. That regional reach has allowed him to handle matters across state lines and to advise clients whose operations extend beyond a single jurisdiction. His experience in both urban and regional legal settings informs how he manages cases and counsels organizations.
Throughout his career Nieters has combined courtroom experience with attention to health law issues. He has taught, edited and practiced in areas where regulatory detail matters as much as litigation strategy. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and pragmatic at trial.
Now based at Bulso & Nolan, Nieters continues to mix client work with firm leadership duties. He represents clients in litigation and handles regulatory questions that touch on health care operations and compliance. He focuses his practice on health law and litigation matters.
