He studied economics at Vanderbilt University, earning a B.A. in 1999, and then moved on to George Mason University School of Law where he completed his J.D. in 2002. After law school he entered practice in Tennessee. He became a member of the Tennessee Bar Association in 2002 and has retained that membership since. The association role has kept him connected to developments in state law and the professional community where he works.
