About Kristen

Kristen Johnson built her legal foundation at Belmont University College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. Her time in law school prepared her for the day-to-day demands of practice. She handled demanding coursework, legal research and writing assignments, and courtroom simulation exercises that sharpened her advocacy skills.

After law school, Johnson entered private practice and now serves as an associate lawyer at Freeman & Fuson. In that role she takes on a variety of tasks typical for associates: conducting factual and legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery and preparing witnesses. She works alongside partners on case strategy and often handles client communications and preliminary hearings.

Her work spans the matters the firm undertakes. She assists in the development of case files and supports trial preparations when cases advance that far. Her responsibilities require close attention to procedural detail and the ability to distill complex materials into clear analyses for supervising attorneys and clients. Johnson’s colleagues describe her as methodical in document review and practical in courtroom preparation.

Johnson is admitted to practice in Tennessee. That admission allows her to appear in state courts and to represent clients whose matters fall under the firm’s Tennessee practice. She keeps up with local rules and developments in state procedure that affect the litigation calendar and filing practices. In the office she plays a role in mentoring more junior staff on filing protocols and managing court deadlines.

Outside of courtroom and office duties, Johnson spends time refining litigation skills and staying current on case law relevant to her work. She invests hours in research and in drafting memoranda that inform the firm’s positions. Her approach to client matters emphasizes thorough preparation and clear written work.

At Freeman & Fuson, Johnson handles assignments that require steady case management and legal analysis. She is part of a team that moves matters from intake through resolution, and she contributes to the firm’s effort to present organized and well-documented cases on behalf of clients. She currently practices as an associate at Freeman & Fuson, where her work centers on client representation and case development.
