About Stephanie
Stephanie Palo began her academic path at Boston University, earning a B.S. in Communication and International Relations in 2006. She went on to complete her J.D. at Rutgers School of Law–Newark in 2009. Those formative years set the stage for a career that has combined courtroom experience, appellate work and collaborative practice.
After law school, Palo served as a law clerk to the Hon. Rudy B. Coleman of the New Jersey Appellate Division in 2009. The clerkship exposed her to appeals procedure and judicial decision-making at an early point in her career. She entered private practice the following year, joining Methfessel & Werbel, LLC as an associate in 2010. A year later she moved to Gomperts Penza & McDermott, LLC, continuing to develop litigation skills and client management abilities.
By 2014 Palo shifted into an of-counsel role at the Law Office of Christopher D. Adams, LLC. That position lasted a year and preceded a partnership formation in 2015 when she joined Adams Buchan & Palo, LLC as a partner. In 2019 she became partner at Buchan & Palo LLC, where she remains a member of the firm’s leadership team. Her career shows a steady progression from clerkship to associate roles and then into partnership.
Palo is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. Her professional memberships reflect the range of matters she handles. She belongs to the New Jersey State Bar and the Monmouth County Bar Association. She is active in collaborative practice groups, including the Jersey Shore Collaborative Law Group and the Collaborative Divorce Professionals of New Jersey. She is also a member of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey. Those affiliations indicate involvement in family law, collaborative divorce processes and criminal defense matters.
