About Sidney L.
Sidney L. Gold built a practice from steady beginnings. He completed a bachelor’s degree at Pennsylvania State University in 1972 and earned his J.D. from Temple University in 1975. The arc of his career reflects long experience in public and private roles, and a steady presence in employment and federal courts.
Early in his career he served as Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia in 1985. A year later he became principal shareholder of Sidney L. Gold & Associates, P.C., a role he has held for decades. That combination of municipal service and private practice shaped how he approaches litigation and dispute resolution.
He maintains admissions across a wide set of forums. Those include the U.S. Supreme Court, several federal circuit courts (2nd, 3rd and 4th Circuits), and state bars in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is also active in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he currently serves as an arbitrator and mediator.
Gold’s practice has a heavy emphasis on labor and employment matters. He has taken on roles in bar and professional organizations that reflect that interest. He is vice chair of the National Employment Lawyers Association and co-chair of the Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He also holds memberships on the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Employment Law Institute board, the Professional Guidance Committee, and the Federal Courts Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Those roles extend his work beyond individual cases. Serving as an arbitrator and mediator, he frequently handles dispute resolution outside of formal trial settings. His committee work and association positions involve shaping CLE programs, offering peer guidance, and advising on court-related matters. He brings those institutional perspectives back to his practice.
Colleagues and clients see a lawyer who combines courtroom background with ADR experience. His years in municipal government add familiarity with public-sector employment issues, while his firm practice covers private-sector litigation as well. He continues to accept matters in federal and state courts and to sit as a neutral in arbitration and mediation panels.
As of 2026 he maintains his role at Sidney L. Gold & Associates, P.C., handling employment litigation, arbitration, mediation and related matters in federal and state courts. His current practice concentrates on employment law and related litigation.
