Shawn A. Jiles is a Board-Certified Civil Trial Attorney with over 22 years of experience in personal injury and Social Security disability law. He is the founder of Jiles & Fugate Law Group, located at 601 West Central Avenue, Winter Haven, Florida. The firm specializes in personal injury cases, including car accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and fall incidents, and wrongful death claims. They also handle Social Security disability cases, assisting clients in obtaining the benefits they deserve. Mr. Jiles earned his Juris Doctor with honors from the Thomas M.
Cooley College of Law in December 2002. During law school, he served as an editor of the Law Review, participated in the 60+ Elder Law Clinic, and engaged in mock trial and moot court programs. After graduation, he began his legal career as a criminal defense attorney in Bartow, Florida, representing clients charged with misdemeanors, DUI, felonies, including life felonies and murder. Over two years, he tried more than 40 cases before a jury, achieving favorable verdicts in the majority of them. In 2006, Mr. Jiles transitioned to personal injury law, joining a local firm where he developed his trial skills by handling numerous civil cases. In February 2014, he founded Jiles Law, P.A., which later became Jiles & Fugate Law Group.
His practice focuses on negotiating claims with insurance companies and litigating cases to secure fair compensation for his clients. Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Jiles is actively involved in the community. He is a member of the Bartow Rotary Club, having served as its President, and has volunteered to teach high school students about the law, trial practice, and procedure. He is also a former member of the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of East Polk County and currently serves on the board of directors for Heartland for Children. Mr. Jiles is fluent in English and Spanish.
